What I Help With:
My areas of practice include trauma recovery, anxiety, coping with stress, relationship challenges, grief and loss, life transitions, and emotional regulation. I also incorporate fun and creativity when working with children, to help them understand their emotions and develop the skills to cope with life's challenges.
Therapeutic Approach:
Along with being trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I incorporate a variety of other therapeutic approaches into my practice, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness techniques.
About Me:
My name is Nichole, and I am a registered social worker with both a Bachelor's and Master’s Degree in Social Work from Memorial University. I have practiced social work for over 14 years, and have had the privilege of working with children, youth and adults in various capacities including offering individual and group counselling designed to foster growth, healing, and positive change. Along with counselling, I also work in social policy development and am passionate about supporting change at both the individual and systemic levels.
I believe that every person possesses unique strengths to overcome challenges, heal, and achieve their desired outcomes. My approach is rooted in compassion, empathy, respect and a deep commitment to client-centered care. I use a trauma-informed and non-judgmental approach, creating a safe and supportive space where you can feel heard, validated, and empowered. I will work collaboratively with you to build a strong therapeutic relationship and ensure that therapy is tailored to your specific needs and goals.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, walking with my dog, practicing yoga, listening to music, spending time with friends and family, and curling up with a good book.
