Child & Play Therapy

Helping Kids Feel Safe, Seen, and Supported

Therapy designed for children, using the language they know best—play.

How We Can Help:

Children don’t always have the words to explain what they’re feeling—but their behavior, play, and emotions speak volumes. If your child is struggling with big feelings, challenging behaviors, or a difficult life event, therapy can help them process safely and begin to heal.

At Power Counselling and Wellness, we offer child-centered, age-appropriate support through play therapy and more —guided by care, empathy, and a deep understanding of child development.

What Play Therapy Can Help With:

We work with children of all ages experiencing:

  • Anxiety or fear

  • Aggression or tantrums

  • Emotional outbursts or shutdowns

  • Sleep or separation issues

  • Grief or loss

  • Trauma or difficult life events

  • Family changes (divorce, relocation, new siblings, etc.)

  • Social struggles or bullying

  • Self-esteem concerns

Every child’s story is different, and therapy is tailored to meet them right where they are.

How Play Therapy Works:

Through toys, games, art, and guided play, children explore feelings, experiences, and challenges in a developmentally appropriate way. It may look like “just play,” but with the support of a trained therapist, play becomes a powerful tool for expression, emotional regulation, and healing.

What Makes Our Approach Different:

Our therapists bring extensive experience in supporting children with care, patience, and skill. She creates a safe, trusting environment where kids can express themselves freely and begin to build resilience.

We also work closely with parents/guardians to provide insight, support, and strategies for growth at home.

We can help!

It can be hard to see your child struggle. Getting support is a powerful step—and we’re here to walk with you.
